This represents how facial recognition works,
a technology which has greatly improved the
power of surveillance. It has been very
beneficial in helping the police force. Face
recognition systems can be used to identify
people in photos, video, or in realtime. These
algorithms will most likely be everywhere in
the near future.

Studies have shown that many face
recognition algorithms have a higher
number of false negatives (incorrect
recognitions) for black people
compared to white people, black
women were the group with the
highest false negatives according to a
study by the NIST in 2019. If the
datasets used to train the machines
aren’t representative, the machine
learning will mirror this.
